451 Research - Cloud360 is the leader in both cloud management product and services

The report I shared last week was focused primarily on Cloud360 as a Product. It’s now the time to see how we fared in Services.

It is with great pleasure that I announce the findings published in a recent magic quadrant by 451 Research on “IT Management as a Service”, where we were shown in the leader quadrant in ‘Service delivery and Excellence’.
451 Research says… “With Cloud360, Cognizant can manage the existing customer estate, as well as the virtualized layers. It is a good fit for customers looking to experiment with cloud in public, private and on-premises scenarios because it keeps processes consistent” and by further developing its “blended brokering and managed support services for applications and infrastructure”, Cognizant can strengthen its foothold in the global market and gain sustained popularity.

“Tooling, automation, process and policy” have gained a lot of importance for businesses looking at long-term benefits and sustainability in maintaining service portfolios. This has led to the growing requirement for service integration and management, positioning “IT as a Service” as a desired goal. The report by 451 Research clearly shows that “Cognizant has come to market more quickly with an ITMaaS offering – in the form of OnTarget and Cloud360 – than many of the tier one Western-headquartered service providers and is managing to grow a respectable installed base for the offering among its customers.”

A SWOT analysis of ITaaS and ITMaaS vendors have also established Cognizant as one of the best and leading service providers. The report by 451 Research states, while some of the vendors have disjointed go-to-market strategies, lack of standalone ITMaaS offerings, old fashioned tooling and dissatisfactory workload and business process management cycle, the only possible disadvantage for Cognizant is a lack of proper visibility as an infrastructure service provider.

We believe that 451 Research validates our approach to building a comprehensive cloud management platform and deliver services for our customers on their journey to IT as a Service (ITaaS), and IT Management as a Service (ITMaaS).

Cognizant Cloud360 Leads Cloud Management in Enterprise Customer Survey from 451 Research

I am happy to share that in a recent report published by 451 Research on Cloud Management and Automation, IT practitioners across the globe selected Cognizant's Cloud360 as the leading vendor in five of the six measured categories.

The 451 Research report showed that Cloud360 (listed as Cognizant in the report) excelled among competing software vendors in the following categories:
  • Unified Cloud Management Console
  • Cloud Governance
  • Multi-cloud Management
  • Metering/Billing on Hybrid Clouds
  • Cloud Brokerage
The findings were based on interviews with a “…network of IT professional and key decision-makers at large and midsized enterprises.” The interviews were supported by additional interviews with IT stakeholders such as IT managers, technology vendors, managed service providers, telcos and VCs, as well as primary research.
The report looks at the adoption of “…tools that are emerging to support the selection, provisioning, scheduling and dispatch of work to BEVs (Best Execution Venues) and the acquisition of services from them.” The research found that “… sophisticated management and automation tools are going to be required to ensure that a cloud can deliver on its promise of faster and more flexible services, on more devices and on-demand.”

According to 451 Research's survey, cloud management technologies such as unified cloud management consoles and cloud governance tools are in the early stages of gaining traction with users. The report notes that the “…next few years, however, will see a significant change in these areas, with close to one-third of respondents planning to implement these technologies in their cloud environments. Spending plans are beginning to gain momentum, with 16% and 10% of respondents citing increased spending on cloud management consoles and governance technologies, respectively, in 2013.”

We believe that this report from 451 Research validates our approach of building a comprehensive cloud management platform. For years now, our focus has been to guide our customers on their journey to IT as a Service (ITaaS), and IT Management as a Service (ITMaaS) by enabling Enterprises to use best of breed cloud services.

At Cloud360, we recognize that if IT is to operate at the speed of business, and reach that level of agility, efficiency and control, then a new approach to management is needed for the cloud era. One that delivers automated operations, intelligent operational analytics, cost transparency, on-demand access to any service, and the flexibility to support any platform or cloud.
